RAN LIKE SHIT SUNDAY!!!!!!

Sunday ended up being a nightmare as i dropped 6 of 8 sng 9man poker tournaments. I had a few distractions but overall i did not play as well as i should have.Competition tends to be a little harder on the weekends; And i really need to play smaller pots early on if i plan to make this shit happend.

I ended up on the bubble in quite a few games yesterday; And i am trying to figure out the problem there. I cashed out $90 last night to cover my truck note for the week so right now the roll sits a $106.00 along with the $80 i lost yesterday.

Because i am a tournament player by nature,i tend to make moves that are not good for sng poker.Take this hand i just played for instance; With QQ i would usally raise or flat here. This being because in tournament poker i am deep enough to flat call the 3-bet from the guy behind me.

But in this case i opted to fold instead of calling or re-raises ect. This tends to be a bad move overall this early in a tournament or a sng for that matter.

And lastly i bust out of this tournament with AK suited v.s AA again on the very next hand!!!!!

So what are the chances of AK running into AA two hands in a row???? From what i have read it's very very rare that this happends again anytime soon! Poker is very demanding on the brain if you don't understand the game itself. And i truly hope during this time; That i have the skills to survive this without a bankroll or the proper funds to live through this.

UP TO $300 IN 3 DAYS AFTER WORK LAYOFF

Well it's Sunday morning and i am up grinding the $13 Knock out sng 9mans on Pokerstars. I played pretty lax in my 1st buy-in and made an early exit with AJ TPTK v.s a limped players 333. I took a chance and got burnt as always. Remember never to go broke in a unraised pot!!

The goal for today and hopefully i can get it done early; Is to start at the $13 level and then the $27 Knockouts. I figured that i will just play around with these two levels for now until the rust falls off. I am really hard pressed to work on a few player control issues that i have; But im not really to worried about it.

For the first time in a real long time,im starting to realize that i really am a pretty good player. Now i feel like when i enter a tournament or sng i have the skills to win or run very deep. I have really missed playing like i used too; And being out of work for a week now has really forced me to play well.

OFFICIAL POKER WEEKEND REPORT

I just wanted to make shure that i keep my blogging up to date;As it has been about a week or two since i made my last post here. Work has been kinda holding me back on my volume,so to make up for the lost playing time i bought a new poker book my PXF.

This past weekend and just poker in general has been very rewarding to me. Although i have yet to get a major cash this year; I have been playing around with small cash games just to improve my post flop play.

I have also been working very hard on my sit-n-go play as well; And so far i have been running alittle better than fair so to speak. I have also been spending a lot more time at home and a lot less drinking if any this year so far. As for the smoking part it's been an up and down battle with me fighting my own demons and shit. Im just gonna do what i do and leave it all in God's hands for he will bless me.

Poker Update!!!

Well it's been a few weeks or so since i have posted here. Things have been pretty basic as i am just doing what i do. I have been working on my reads and my game for the 2009 poker season.

I have been pretty stressed out to say the least, but that will end with time.I am currently having a few inner problems with real life but poker helps to get through it as well as my prayers to God.

I guess i will just do my best to stay focused as i look for my 1st Mtt win and another major score.Right now i know that i am a good player but i still have to work on small mistakes that cost me huge in tournaments.

Right now i am on solid MTT status for next year; As i began to work on this as of Christmas day. It's not the money that drives me but more of the respect of my peers and friends who play this game. "I know the money will come"!

THIS IS WHY I PLAY

Well sometimes you have to think about why you do certain things; And in my case it is why do i play poker. Well i was just taking a look at some picture when my children came to N.O to visit; And i quickly realized why i love to play.

Also at the same time i have noticed that sometimes you just need to get out the house and have fun as well. And here lately i have not really done anything but play poker when i have free time to do so.

For me it's my Saturday off of work, and most of the time i have weekends off; But this weekend i have decided to work on Sunday instead of playing in the majors. I just need time to think about the reasons that i am really playing poker. And what i am actually trying to get done by taking the game so seriously.

Here in a few weeks we will have Thanks Giving Day, and then Christmas as well as New Years Eve and New Years Day 2009. During each of these holidays you really want to thank God for being able to spend the time with your family and your friends.

For me it has been very lonely time, as i am no longer living in E.St Louis Illinois. And i often find myself missing my family and my friends back home up North. I am very happy at the same time though; Because i am doing very well here in New Orleans and god has blessed me with a few nice things. But at times i really start to miss home!!!

But on the flip side, "it also makes me feel proud that i play poker;" As every time i come home i have things in my house to remind me that i can play if i put my mind to it! I just try to remind myself that Poker is not just a walk in the park; And in order to improve i have to continue to push myself.

I have learned so much since i have made the change to MTT poker. It's a totally different animal than STT's and i really love the dynamics of this type as well. Although i know that this year is quickly coming to an end; I can't help but wonder if i can make another 5 figure score before Christmas! I would really like to make this Christmas extremely special for a few family members back at home.

You see it's not the money in poker that drives me;It's the satisfaction i get from making myself and my family happy as well. I don't have to win $200,000 to be a success to the ones who love me. I don't have to win $30k to be the favorite dad,or the favorite son!

It's not how much money you win from playing poker; But it's more so about what you do with it! I think about July the 1st every single day of my life. And even though i was only $11,000 i made sure that i made alot of people happy, before i even thought about doing or buying anything for myself!!!!

And pretty much that is what friends and family is all about! And this is the very reason that i play poker!

"WHAT ABOUT YOU"!

SO YOU WANT TO PLAY THE MILLION PART 2

Well here i am once again just chillin in my two bedroom town house in New Orleans. For everyone else on this day it's just the normal Sunday. But for me this is the Super Bowl of MTT poker at it's best.

This week once again i have waited one long week to try my run at poker glory. It's an online grinders life long dream; And that is to run deep or final table the Sunday Million on Poker Stars. Right now i have around 2 hours left to get myself together; With the hopes of once again making a respectable run for the roses.

Will i have my AA run down by KK today; Or will my Fullhouse lose to a runner runner straight flush on the river. Will my two pair hold up in a big pot that will send me to the final table of one of the biggest tourneys on Sunday?

I truly hope that i run well today, as i am a total student of this game we call texas holdem. The Sunday Million unlike many tournaments online here on Stars offers life changing money! I often dream of the day when i can gain some kind of respect from my peers by taking a MTT down.

The Glory and the passion as well as the drive it commends; Along with the heartache hard work and the pain it takes to be a winner!!!! These are all of the perks that i crave! I want to become a winner be it this tournament or another. The passion that i have for this game is unreal and drive second to none.

With every card as well as every hand dealt,I am a winner in my quest. This game and my personals goals have a hunger like no other and i must reach my destiny.Today i will play to the best of my ability; And that is the best that i can do!!!

"AND WITH THIS SAID" "WISH ME THE BEST OF LUCK"
"IF YOU CHASE YOUR DREAMS YOU WILL CATCH THEM"

GG ME!!!

Satellite Saturday

"Yawn" it's around 8:36am right now and im off for the weekend.Today is what i like to call (Satellite Saturday) as well as Sundays before the majors start. I just registered for a Double Shootout on PokerStars; And hopefully i can take one down early this weekend.

Hopefully we will get a full field,as it is very easy to cash for a seat! And if not i can only do my best to take it down! So far we have 84 entrants and 4 seats up for grabs.Basically i have chosen the ideal situation to win a Sunday Ticket.

Well here it is 12:26 in the afternoon and 3 hours later; I am very happy and now $215 richer with my seat. It was a long battle during the 1st round of the Double Shoot-out.Some guy i was heads up with at the final table of the 1st round was very very fucking tuff. I decided to just use my read of this player and wait for him to make mistakes.

Well as it went the only player who made mistakes was me! As everytime i got into a big pot with this guy; It seems like he always held the nutz LOL. So i decided to make a small adjustment, as this player was very board and turn scared when it looked dangerous. "And so goes the leak in his game as well"!

Anyway after another 30 minutes or so of heads-up play i was able to take him out. This was also by far one of the hardest guys i have had to play HU! So now and a 1st in a long while of playing these; I was able to T.I.D on my 1st try to win a ticket to the big dance on Sunday.

So now i will continue to play a few more of these (sat) tourneys in order to fund a few of my favorite games for Saturday. But all in all it is a mission accomplished for the day and a good start.
